The reception network of EASO, established in March 2016, is currently working on its third practical tool, following the publication of the EASO Guidance on reception conditions - operational standards and indicators. The next EASO Guidance on reception conditions will complement the first guidance, with a focus on unaccompanied children. The overall objective of this guidance is to support Member States in the implementation of key provisions of the Reception Conditions Directive, ensuring an adequate standard of living for unaccompanied children and taking into account their special reception needs.
The working group in charge of drafting the guidance, composed of national experts from seven Member States, met in Malta from 7-9 February for a workshop facilitated by EASO and by the European Platform of Reception Agencies, in order to review the first draft of the guidance. Experts are now working on a second draft, which will then be sent out to the reference group. They will gather again from 17 to 19 April 2018. The finalisation of the guidance is planned in June 2018, with a final draft to be submitted to the Management Board in September for adoption.
