A welcome note from EASO’s Executive Director

Nina GregoriDear readers,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to our first newsletter of the year, covering the last quarter of 2019. The previous issues of our newsletter had a positive impact on all stakeholders who saw EASO reaching all EU Member States. This encouragement gives us more energy to invest in such dynamic communication tools and give them our utmost attention and support.

2020 promises to again be a busy year for us all here at EASO as we continue to provide more support in all aspects of our mandate. Amongst these, we will step up providing technical and capacity assistance both from our Headquarters in Malta and in the field, providing operational support, training, country guidance and quality assurance. EASO has a unique mandate, which, at its core, stands for upholding the very best of the EU’s principles in protecting those in need.

Many of you have received various communications since our last newsletter. Below we provide a quick recap of the EASO Operating plans signed with Greece, Italy, Cyprus and Malta, the new EASO organisational structure, as well as an overview of our recent activities and developments.

Our newsletter will continue covering important topics such as our latest publications and the latest asylum trends.

We will also continue providing you with the open vacancies you can apply for in order to join our team.

I do hope that you are able to take the time to read the articles and find out more about EASO’s work.

Feel free to click on the ‘Contact Us’ button to let us know what you think of our newsletter, and what else you would like to see in future issues.

On behalf of all EASO staff, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a productive beginning to the year.

Warm regards,

Nina Gregori

EASO Executive Director
