Visit of CEPOL representatives in the framework of the EU Strategic Training Needs Assessment process

In the framework of the EU Strategic Training Needs Assessment (EU-STNA), on 12 October 2017 EASO hosted a meeting with representatives from CEPOL, the lead EU JHA agency in the EU-STNA process.

EU-STNA is a collective, EU-wide effort aimed at identifying EU-level training priorities in the area of internal security and its external aspects, in order to help build the capacity of law enforcement officials, while seeking to avoid duplication of efforts and achieve better coordination of all stakeholders and training providers.

It consists of a step-by-step analysis, conducted at a strategic level, of the EU documents detailing crime threats that are then discussed by Member States and EU specialists in expert and focus groups, with a view to extract capability gaps and training needs that should be addressed by training implemented at an EU level.
