Launch of EASO's Annual Report on the Situation of Asylum in the EU+
On Wednesday 5 July 2017, EASO launched its Annual Report on the Situation of Asylum in the EU. Given the close synergies between EASO’s Annual Report on the Situation of Asylum in the EU, and the importance of disseminating the information on the functioning of asylum systems, the launch of the Annual Report was linked, same as in 2016, with EASO’s Journalist Network Annual Meeting. Read more...

June 2017
In June, EU+ countries recorded 58,403 applications for international protection. This represented a 1% decrease compared to May, compared to June 2016, in June 2017 the number of applications was reduced to half. Read more...

New EASO interims for Greek hotspots
Between the 13 June to 21 July 2017 EASO conducted another extensive training programme for a new group of interim case workers who upon completion of the training took up their responsibilities in the Greek hotspots, focusing on interviewing asylum seekers and preparing opinions on international protection.
