	August 2017 In July, there were 58,779 applications for international protection in the EU+ countries. This figure is a stable trend compared to the previous month but it is half the number of applications that were lodged a year ago in July 2016. Read more...

	Visit of Polish delegation to Athens On 24 and 25 August, a delegation from the Office of Foreigners, Poland, met with EASO staff, Member State experts and interpreters at the EASO premises in Athens and visited the EASO Relocation operations at the Greek Asylum Service and a local reception site. 	EASO publishes Country of Origin Information (COI) report on the security situation in Pakistan On August 4^th, EASO published a Country of Origin Information (COI) Report entitled ‘Pakistan security situation’. The report is the second update of the security chapter of the EASO COI report on Pakistan, Country Overview, published in August 2015, first updated in July 2016, and provides information relevant for the protection status determination of Pakistani asylum seekers.
