New EASO animation on Unaccompanied Minors

Over the past few years, the number of children arriving in Europe to seek protection has increased dramatically. Many of them are unaccompanied – on their own.

Amara and Malik, the fictional protagonists of EASO’s new animation, remind us that some children may go missing or become separated from their families during their journey to Europe, and that they might have faced particular risks and suffered abuse and violence.

EASO’s new animation on unaccompanied minors shows that identification and response to the special needs of unaccompanied children is further mainstreamed in all EASO activities through particular guidance, training and quality support.

EASO is here to support, to ensure that any child needing protection receives it and that, regardless of their asylum status, citizenship or background, all unaccompanied minors are treated as children first and foremost.
