In the first two months of 2018, the asylum support teams of EASO in Athens informed more than 3,250 applicants about the Greek asylum procedure:
- through daily information sessions at the premises of the Greek Asylum Service in Athens;
- during regular visits to the eight reception sites in the Attica region; and
- through the EASO Greece Hotline, in collaboration with the Greek Asylum Service.
In the framework of the latest EASO Operating Plan to Greece, EASO experts and interpreters in Attica spoke with more than 550 persons per week in five languages (Arabic, Sorani, Kurmanji, Dari and Farsi), thereby supporting the implementation of the regular procedure on the mainland. Applicants for international protection are provided with timely and reliable information on the asylum procedure in Greece and have the chance to ask questions and receive accurate feedback on the progress of their case.
