On 19 – 20 September, EASO welcomed 18 members of courts and tribunals from 14 EU Member States for a professional development workshop on ending international protection.
The workshop organised by the Courts and Tribunals Sector was based on the corresponding Judicial analysis from the EASO Professional Development Series and aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the legal grounds for ending international protection in the context of the Qualification Directive (recast).
During the workshop, two trainers from Ireland and Romania led presentations on the legal grounds for ending international protection described in Articles 11, 14, 16 and 19 of the Qualification Directive (recast). Under their guidance, participants examined case studies in this area and engaged in a moot court exercise.
As stated by a participant: ‘As soon as we get more ‘end of protection’ cases, I will remember what I learned here and keep it in mind when applying the German Law on Revocation/Ending of protection’.
